People: SaarGummi appoints new chief executive
Remich, Luxembourg – Automotive rubber components manufacturer SaarGummi has appointed Lawrence Johnson as its chief executive officer.
Johnson is taking over from Michael Lorig who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside the group, SaarGummi announced in a 7 Aug statement.
Lorig joined SaarGummi in 2007 and held various positions, notably chief operations officer and, since September 2014, chief executive officer within the company.
"SaarGummi has seen very successful growth over the past couple of years thanks to Michael Lorig and his team," said Johnson upon accepting the position.
The new CEO said he aimed to leverage the existing strategy and “well-functioning organisation” to achieve further growth and stabilisation.
In addition to the new CEO, SaarGummi also appointed Patrick Heimpold as chief risk officer, primarily responsible for the group’s risk management.
