Tory, Michigan – Dayco LLC has appointed Joel Wiegert as chief executive officer, the company announced in a 12 July statement.
Wiegert replaces Nick Orlando, who joined the company as CEO in December 2016. The company statement did not give details about the circumstances for his departure.
Prior to joining Dayco, Wiegert worked for US automotive parts supplier BorgWarner where he worked for 16 years and served, most recently, as president and general manager of BorgWarner Morse Systems.
He also worked for drivetrain, sealing, and thermal-management specialist Dana Corp. for seven years, where he held engineering and sales positions.
Wiegert holds a BA in liberal arts from Wheaton College, a BSc in mechanical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an executive MBA from Bowling Green State University.
“Joel’s outstanding leadership skills, along with his strong track record of success, made him the outstanding candidate for the role,” said Dr Stephan Kessel, chairman of the board of managers.
