Orange, Texas – Lion Elastomers LLC has completed its acquisition of Firestone Polymers' synthetic rubber facility in Orange, according to a news release issued 1 Aug.
Lion did not disclose the purchase price.
The purchase marks Lion Elastomers' second straight acquisition in less than five years and is in line with the company’s strategy to expand and add value, said the statement.
The Orange plant manufactures polybutadiene, styrene-butadiene block copolymers and solution styrene-butadiene rubber under the Stereon, Diene and Duradene brand names.
Lion agreed to purchase the plant in June. At the time, it said it would retain the established brand names.
In addition to the Orange facility, Lion operates plants in Geismar, Louisiana, and Port Neches, Texas.
