Bangkok – Asahi Kasei has launched a new subsidiary in Thailand to serve as its regional headquarters for the ASEAN region.
Based in Bangkok, Asahi Kasei Asia Pacific Co. Ltd (AKAP) has 16 entities in five ASEAN countries and started operation 1 Aug, the Japanese materials supplier said in a release.
The company, headed by Jumpei Seki, will supply materials for automotive, apparel, and hygienic markets in the region, as the population and economy continue to grow.
The move is made in view of the region’s diverse languages, commercial customs, and legal systems.
“A regional headquarters for Asahi Kasei Group operations in the ASEAN region will enable increasingly diverse and complex risks to be effectively managed,” said the Asahi Kasei statement.
Amongst others, AKAP offers synthetic rubber, polymers, spandex, acrylonitrile and methyl methacrylate and high performance plastics from its businesses in the region.
