Berwyn, Pennsylvania — Trinseo SA has achieved “significant reductions” in its environmental footprint over the past nine years, according to the company’s latest sustainability & corporate social responsibility (CSR) report.
The company has reduced electricity usages by 10%; water consumption by 31%, greenhouse gas emissions by 48% and total waste by 36% compared to a 2011 base-line, said the Trinseo CSR report 23 July.
The company also achieved “a recordable” injury rate of 0.21, lower than the average for manufacturers and American Chemistry Council members.
Trinseo’s 9th CSR report marked a full year since the company adopted the GRI framework for public sustainability.
GRI is an independent organisation providing “a common language and framework” for public sustainability reporting, allowing more global comparability and better quality of information.
