Rodolfo high-tech calender line for tire major in India

Solbiate Olona, Italy – Rodolfo Comerio will supply its latest 1,900mm-wide calendaring line to a “major tire manufacturer” for a new plant in India, the company has announced.

The "super combined" calendering line can produce rubberised textile cord and innerliner, and can also be prearranged for the future production of rubberised steel cord, the company said in a 26 July release.

The line, it noted, will be used "to produce material for all types of tires, from giants for agriculture to tires for cars and also for those for two- and three-wheel vehicles."

The equipment will be manufactured at Rodolfo's facilities in Solbiate Olona, where the company is also manufacturing "several new-generation calendering lines for [other] leading tire manufacturers."

Featuring a ‘friction free sliding’ (RC SF-Free) system, the new calenders are improve the rubber penetration into the textile or steel cord, the Italian machinery supplier said.

Moreover, the new technologies adopted for the pre- and post-calender sections “significantly increase” productivity and offer high levels of safety for operators by reducing manual intervention, the Italian company added.
