Goodyear supplying tires to Airbus A321XLR
Akron, Ohio – Goodyear has been conditionally selected as a supplier by Airbus to provide its “flight radial tires” as main and nose landing gear for the new A321XLR aircraft.
The flight radial is one of Goodyear’s “most advanced aviation products,” said the US tire maker in a statement 21 June.
The tire incorporates 'Goodyear featherweight alloy core bead technology with strong, rigid tread belts and enhanced rubber that offer dimensional stability, longer service life and increased cut resistance.'
According to Airbus, the A321XLR will deliver “an unprecedented extra-long range” of up to 4,700 nautical miles, 15% more than its A321LR version, with the same fuel efficiency.
