Solbiate Olona, Italy – Rodolfo Comerio has announced that it is awaiting approval of a pending patent registered for the application of its high-accuracy calendering technology.
The technology is based on a sliding system with a very low friction that enhances distance-adjustment of the calender rolls, said the Italian company.
As well as gauge accuracy, the ‘friction free sliding’ (RC SF-Free) is said to optimise penetration of rubber into the fabric or steel cord layers.
Among other advantages, the technology is claimed to reduce the thickness for light tire production increasing the performance of rolling of the tires.
