Bengaluru, India – Trelleborg’s antivibration solutions (AVS) operation is set to open a production facility in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru, Karnataka state, later this month.
The “state-of-the art” plant will significantly increase Trelleborg’s production capabilities for the rail industry, according to a company release 27 March.
Set up in an area of 6,200 square metres, the unit will work closely with local OEMs as India continues to invest in its rail infrastructure, the company noted.
Trelleborg expects to create 100 jobs at the facility and plans to develop an engineering centre there to support technical requirements.
Without giving further details, the Swedish group said that the plant “represents a significant investment for Trelleborg.”
The company said it plans to expand the facility to occupy a total of 8,200 square metres within three years.
