Stockholm – Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) has issued study findings showing that major reductions in CO2 emissions can be achieved by using recovered carbon black (rCB) instead of virgin carbon black.
For each kilo of rCB that replaced virgin carbon black, total CO2 emissions were reduced by 1.43-2.00 kg, the research also showed.
Another finding, said Enviro, was that replacing 9 kilotonnes of virgin carbon black with rCB can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 12,900-18,000 tonnes.
“The whole industry is looking for materials to reduce the impact on the climate,” said Thomas Sörensson, CEO of Enviro.
