Prometeon launches truck & bus tire brand
Milan, Italy – Prometeon Tyre Group, the former Pirelli industrial tire business, has launched a new truck and bus tire brand globally.
The ‘Anteo’ name is part of the Italian company’s move from a mono-brand to a multi-brand approach, Prometeon said 26 March.
While Prometeon’s premium brand will remain Pirelli, Anteo will extend the company’s offerings to cover other market segments and price bands.
Developed with a special focus on safety, Anteo is claimed to feature “performance excellence” particularly in terms of wet grip.
The brand was developed “under real-life conditions” at Prometeon’s production plants in Turkey and Brazil, according to CTO Alexandre Bregantim.
The company can customise the tires according to the specific needs of different geographical areas, Bregantim added.
“Anteo is the first [of the company’s own-brands], confirming our focus on… the truck & bus sector,” said Giorgio Bruno, chairman and CEO of Prometeon.
Starting with the launch of Anteo, Prometeon also said that it is taking a “platform approach” towards tire sales and services.
This will include supplying “the necessary systems and technological solutions” along with its tires, through an extended Prometeon dealer network.
The tire maker said it will present more details of its new platform-approach in the coming months.
