Mumbai, India – Birla Carbon will increase base prices for all carbon black markets in North America by $170/tonne, effective 1 May.
Adjustments for customers with supply agreements will be implemented as agreements are renewed, the carbon black maker announced 22 March.
The company linked the price hike to “increased operating costs” due to emissions control measures in the US as well as the growing “cost of compliance” elsewhere in North America.
