Yaroslavl, Russia – Russian carbon black manufacturer JSC Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod (YATU) has increased production volume at its plant in Yaroslavl, by 5.6% to over 371 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa).
In a written statement to ERJ, the company attributed the volume growth to “continuous upgrade[s]” and “debottlenecking” of production processes.
Without giving detailed figures, the company reported “positive financial results” for 2018, “despite the significant increase of the feedstock cost and the decline in supply.”
If feedstock costs remain the same, the carbon black supplier expects this year to be “favourable” with “sales flat at the 2018 level or slightly above.”
The company also announced that it changed name to “YATU named after V.U. Orlov” last year to honour its first general director.
