Burghausen, Germany – Wacker Chemie AG has resolved the production problems that led it to declare force majeure on its high consistency rubber (HCR) silicone product in early January
The company “successfully solved the issue of the technical breakdown in the HCR gum plant in Burghausen,” a Wacker spokesman said in reply to an ERJ’ enquiry.
Customers have been informed "that force majeure was lifted with immediate effect,” added the spokesman's 1 Feb written statement.
“We are currently ramping up production to full capacity, he continued. “This will take two weeks from now with shipments from Burghausen returning to [the previous level].”
Wacker declared force majeure on its HCR silicone product line after a technical breakdown of production equipment.
The incident forced the shutdown of key production areas at the Burghausen facility, said a letter sent 7 Jan to Wacker customers.
The outage affected all Wacker HCR grades, which include: Elastosil HCR, Powersil HCR, Silmix HCR and Cenusil HCR.
