The two belting companies agreed to merge in September and, as part of the integration, announced the name-change on 17 Dec.
The merger, the two companies claim, will create a new “belting champion,” specialising in industrial power-transmission belting and lightweight conveyor belting.
The merged entity has around 5,000 employees, over 25 manufacturing facilities and over 100 commercial and sales centres worldwide.
Under the Ammega umbrella, the companies are to combine their knowhow, R&D activities, business systems and human resources to enhance customer-service and technology.
However, Ammega will maintain the Ammeraal Beltech and Megadyne brands as they are “well-established” in their respective markets.
Channel-to-market strategies behind both brands are, likewise, to stay the same within the merged business, the joint statement added.
“Ensuring continuity, especially in the way we serve our valued customers, is a top priority” said Marc Maisonneuve, Ammega’s corporate marketing director.
