Marangoni, Vipal enter “partnership agreement”
The deal will increase synergies and productivity and strengthen the industrial and commercial organisation of both groups, said a short Marangoni statement issued 29 Nov.
Starting in 2019, the link-up will involve a first phase covering activities in the Americas, added the Italian company – without elaborating on how the partnership will operate.
The agreement “is the first result of the new strategic lines of development we recently adopted,” commented Vittorio Marangoni, chairman of the Marangoni Group.
Porto Alegre-based Vipal has 3,000 employees and claims leadership in the Latin American tire-retreading sector. It operates three plants in Brazil with combined production capacity of 18 kilotonnes/month.
With 1,100 employees, Marangoni has industrial and commercial facilities in Germany, Turkey, the UK, North America, China, Brazil, South America, Russia and South Africa.
Marangoni claims to be global brand leader in the ‘green’ tire retreading industry and in the design and construction of machinery for industrial companies in the sector.
The company also claims leadership positions in the production of industrial tires and the manufacture of compounds for technical products.
Parent company Marangoni SpA has 366 employees and is based in Rovereto, where the group HQ are located, added the press statement.
