Nippon Polyurethane opens new Shanghai plant
Shanghai, China – Nippon Polyurethane Technology (Shanghai), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s chemical giant Tosoh, celebrated the opening of its new plant 16 Nov.
Located in the Jinshan Second Industrial Zone, the 88,500-sq.ft. plant has a capacity of 15,700 metric tons per year for polyurethane-related products. That includes capacity for 15,000 tons per year of PU coating’s curing agents and PU systems backed by a $15.9 million (€15 million) investment, as well as 720 tons of PU medical sealant capacity funded by a $434,000 investment.
The plant already is producing about 75% of its total capacity, and is expected to serve the China market, according to the company.
