Jiangsu, China - Honeywell opened its largest plant for protective gloves in Nantong, Jiangsu province on 4 Dec. The facility produces protective gear including polyurethane gloves, nitrile rubber gloves, gloves with PVC dots and knitted gloves.
Phase one of the project covers 23,639 square meters with $15 million (€7.5 million) investment and 60 million pair/year capacity. The whole project's capacity is expected to reach 100 m/year.
Honeywell claims to be the world’s largest provider of personal protective equipment. Gloves manufactured in the Nantong plant (part of its Automation and Control Solutions) are used in the electronics, automobile, machinery processing, food processing and petrochemical sectors.
"Honeywell is committed to ensuring 'head-to-toe' safety for workers. This new plant gives us a solid base to extend our research and innovation for China and the global market," said Li Ning, president of Honeywell ACS Greater China.
