EU car market grows despite shrink in France, Germany

Brussels – The EU passenger car registration recorded a moderate growth of 1.4 percent despite a decline of 2.7 percent in France and 1.8 percent in Germany in the month of November. The growth marked the 15th consecutive month of growth for the EU market.
According to a report released on 16 Dec by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), the UK showed a moderately strong result with 8 percent growth, while new EU member states registered strong double-digit increase in their car registration.
The country showing the highest growth was Portugal with 32.6 percent, followed by Estonia which registered a 26.1 percent growth.
Year-on-year from January to November 2014, with a total of over 11.6 million cars registered, the EU showed a 5.7-percent growth compared with the same period the previous year.
