Singapore – DSM is to increase prices for its Arnitel co-polyester elastomer (COPE) products, citing "significant and continuing cost increases of main raw materials throughout 2017 and early 2018."
The price rise of €225 per tonne on the COPE was among a series of global increases announced 15 Feb across DSM Engineering Plastics’ polymer portfolio.
The hikes, which affect customers of several of DSM's polyamide and thermoplastic polyester products, are effective 1 April or as contracts allow.
Last November, DSM announced that it was expanding the capacity of its speciality polymers plants in Emmen and Geleen, The Netherlands. In response to strong customer demand.
The programme included “bringing 25% additional Arnitel capacity online in 2018.” said Paresh Bhakta, VP global operations at DSM Engineering Plastics.
