Russian carbon black producer raises prices
Yaroslavl, Russia – Russian carbon black manufacturer JSC Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod (Yaroslavl Carbon Black Plant) is increasing prices on all rubber carbon black products sold globally, the company informed ERJ.
Effective 1 April, prices for the materials will increase by over €100 per tonne, in addition to any applicable feedstock index-related adjustments for rubber carbon black products, a Yaroslavl spokesman said.
The carbon black producer has cited an “unfavorable situation” in the carbon black feedstocks market as the reason behind the price hike.
“During past several months Yaroslavl has been forced to pay much more for the required high-quality feedstock. The price hike is necessary to ensure we remain a reliable, long-term supplier of high-quality carbon black,” said the spokesman.
Yaroslavl Carbon Black is headquartered in Yaroslavl-city, north east of Moscow where its production plant is located.
The company operates a single production unit with capacity to produce 370 kilotonnes of carbon black annually. Last year, it produced 352 kilotonnes of carbon black, predominately for the tire and rubber goods industries.
According to the company, more than 80% of its products are exported abroad, mainly to European countries, including Poland, Hungary, Germany, France and Italy.
