Baar, Switzerland – Forbo will take a €75-million charge as a result of anti-trust proceedings against major flooring-systems manufacturers in France, the Swiss company has announced.
The anti-trust case, which has been ongoing since 2013, has now been concluded, said a 19 Oct statement from the Baar-based company.
Forbo said it had made a provision of CHF85 million (€74 million) for the penalty its 2017 half-year operating profit.
The group’s “operating power will thus not be negatively affected,” said its statement, which confirmed a “positive guidance” made in its 2017 half-year report.
As well as floor coverings, Forbo manufactures building and construction adhesives, power-transmission and conveyor-belt products.
The Swiss company generated 2016 net sales of CHF1,185.5 million and employs more than 5,500 people. It operates 24 production facilities and distribution companies and six assembly centres worldwide.
