Arnhem, the Netherlands – Teijin’s Aramid business has added a new production line at its Technora aromatic polyamide fibre production facility in Matsuyama, Japan, the company announced 3 Oct.
The aramid fibre offers high tensile strength and resistance to impact, fatigue, chemicals, moisture and heat in applications such as reinforcement materials for transmission belts & hoses for industrial and automotive applications and the oil & gas industry.
“With the expansion of our Technora capacity we are able to meet the growing market demand for this unique high-performance product,” said Gert Frederiks, CEO & president of Teijin Aramid BV.
Teijin, recently announced that it is expanding its aramid production capacity for its Twaron ‘super fibre’: investing in new spinning technology at its facility in Emmen, The Netherlands. Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.
