ChemChina, Fraunhofer to work on Industry 4.0, new materials

Munich, Germany – ChemChina-owned China National Chemical Equipment (CNCE) and Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation have inked a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the fields of new chemical materials, intelligent manufacturing, automation and information technology.
Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Fraunhofer branch which will be collaborating with CNCE, has 69 research institutions, which are involved in new materials, communication and electronics, automation, computing science and environmental science.
In statement in August, CNCE said that partnership could provide it with “strong support in terms of upgrading of intelligence equipment manufacturing.”
According to the MOU, the two sides will carry out “scientific research and technical innovation” with the German side planning to introduce research institutions to ChemChina for future cooperation.
