Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. is expanding its tire retreading digital applications system, BASysTM, globally following its successful launch in Europe last year.
In addition to that, Bridgestone said in a 24 April statement, that it established “a dedicated organisation” named Digital Solution Centre in January, tasked with speeding up development and deployment of digital solutions.
With the global launch of BASys, said Bridgestone, the company will increase its focus on information and communication technology.
According to the Japanese tire-maker, the system, which is a collection of digital applications for tracking tires throughout retreading process was launched in Latin America in April 2017.
The applications used by the system track tires from the point of collection at the customer's yard through manufacturing at the retread shop and final delivery.
The real-time monitoring of information, argued the Tokyo-based tire-maker, will contributes to the “overall improvement of production efficiency and quality.”
Bridgestone claimed that the combination of accumulated big data from BASys and its other technologies will strengthen the company's ability to deliver “high quality products and services for the wider range of customers.”
