Tokyo - Yokohama Rubber Co. has launched a new fuel-efficient BluEarth-Es ES32 tire “loaded with Japanese technologies,” the tire-maker announced 7 March.
The company said it will start the sale of the tire this spring, initially in Europe, Asia and Oceania.
The marketing of the tire, said Yokohama, will gradually expand to the Middle East and Latin American markets, although it will not be sold in certain countries including Japan, China, India and Russia. The company did not comment on the sale of the tire in North America.
The tire will be available in a total of 73 sizes and, in response to market demand, will include a number of size variations with 17-inch and 18-inch rim diameters.
According to Yokohama, the new tire provides a “well-balanced package of the four core performance traits of any tire – wet grip, wear resistance, durability, and fuel efficiency.”
The tire features a new tread pattern with a wide, square and “powerful” profile for stable driving and safe handling.
Yokohama’s nano-blend compound has been used in the new tire for “optimal balance” of high fuel efficiency, wet grip and wear resistance.
BluEarth is Yokohama’s environmentally friendly tire brand.
