Bridgestone opens automotive rubber plant in Indonesia

Tokyo – Bridgestone’s Indonesian subsidiary, Bridgestone Astra Indonesia (BSAI), has opened a new manufacturing plant in Purwakarta, Jawa Barat, to produce anti-vibration rubber products for the automotive industry.
Established in August 2015, BSAI is a joint venture between Bridgestone, 51 percent, and PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, 49 percent.
The company produces anti-vibration rubber parts for engines and suspensions.
The €12-million plant is Bridgestone Group’s eighth facility in six countries for the manufacturing of anti-vibration rubber products for cars.
By end of the year, the plant expects to employ 90 to supply to the growing ASEAN automotive sector.
