China implements tire labelling provisions
Beijing – The China Rubber Industry Association has issued the country’s first tire labelling administrative provisions and tire grading standard, both effective on 15 Sept.
Labels will be issued after such documents are examined and verified within no longer than 20 business days upon the completion of filing. Consumers can expect labelled tires on the market soon, secretary-general of the China Rubber Industry Association’s tire sub-commission Shi Yifeng told ERJ.
Consumers can also obtain more details about the tire pattern and grading by scanning the QR code at the right bottom of the label.
The provisions are currently enforced on a voluntary basis. “We hope these could become a national law and we are working on that to make it happen,” Shi Yifeng added.
