Taiwan – Kayton is intensifying efforts to supply automated tire-curing equipment in the European market, the Taiwanese machinery maker has announced.
“The recent shift in Asian demands, especially in Japan, makes us understand that the road of complete automation is the right one to follow,” said a Kayton press statement.
This new approach is “even more significant” in European countries, due to the increasing importance of Industry 4.0 for tire manufacturing, the company noted.
Since 2012, Kayton has been supplying equipment and services to the European market, which currently represents 35 percent of its exports for a total value of $20 million (€18 million).
According to Kayton, its strategy is to deliver competitive tire curing solutions and equipment that integrate a wide range of advanced features in the same package.
With extensive automation at the last step of tire manufacturing process (vulcanisation), Shio-Shen Ho, president, believes that “Kayton’s machines will better support European tire manufacturers in production monitoring and management, leading to greater process efficiency and higher tire quality.”
