China's V-belt major investing in new manufacturing facility

Shaoxing, China – V-belt maker Sanlux is planning a new project with 5,000 tonne/year specialty rubber reinforcement capacity and 6 million metre/year agricultural belt capacity.
According to the project’s feasibility report released in December, the new facilities will be located in the company’s base city of Shaoxing, Zhejiang. A total investment of 220 million yuan (€30 million) is earmarked.
The project will start operation in January 2018 with full operation slated in 2019, bringing in €3 million annual net profit on €44 million production value, said the report.
Sanlux claims to be China’s largest V-belt maker and exporter, selling to over 70 countries. According to the company’s estimate it had €34 million to €41 million net profit in 2015, representing a 25 percent to 50 percent year-on-year growth.
