Hankook expands OE offerings in Europe

Neu-Isenburg, Germany – Hankook Europe will supply an additional 20 sizes of its original equipment tires e-cube MAX and SmartFlex to Mercedes-Benz trucks in Europe, the company announced on 17 Dec.

The tire-maker said it was expanding its OE portfolio in the heavy commercial vehicle and medium duty segment as part of its existing OE agreements for Mercedes-Benz Trucks: Actros, Antos, Arocs, Econic and Atego.

The updated tire selection includes the e-cube MAX AL10+ and DL10+ as well as the SmartFlex AH31 and DH31.

Hankook will additionally provide options for 22.5 inch tires.

The company said that the extension of the OE fitment of “the most-demanded heavy duty and medium duty trucks” strengthened its brand in “a highly competitive market”.

This, it said, was a “milestone” in the company’s effort to achieve “sustainable growth” in the TBR business.

The e-cube MAX AL10+ (all position long haul) utilises linear grooves with waved walls to prevent uneven wear, improving durability and long-term fuel efficiency.

The hybrid line SmartFlex AH31 is an all-season TBR tire for variable road conditions, providing even wear and long mileage performance with lower rolling resistance.
