Stockholm – Nynas has reported a drop in its net sales in the second quarter of 2015 as a results of low oil prices.
Net sales decreased to SEK4,907 million (€526 million) from SEK6,364 million for the same period the year before.
Operating result before depreciation (EBITDA) excluding non-recurring items for the second quarter amounted to SEK260 million from SEK402 million the previous year.
The company also reported that the turnaround of the Nynäshamn refinery was completed with no accidents being reported during the second quarter, with production restarting in May.
"The development during the first six months of 2015 has confirmed Nynas' recovery of last year,” said Gert Wendroth, president and CEO of Nynas AB.
According to Wendroth, despite the economic slowdown in China and problems in Brazil, sales volumes developed positively in both its naphthenics and bitumenbusiness areas.
