Milan, Italy – Pirelli has posted a modest rise in its earnings and sales for the first half of 2015, the Italian tire-maker announced on 6 Aug.
Revenues grew by 6.4 percent to €3.1 billion, sustained by the positive performance of the ‘consumer’ business at 10.2 percent.
Earnings in the first half of the year rose by 4.8 percent €446.6 million, said the Milan-based company.
Revenues for the industrial business were down by 5.8 percent, impacted by the general market decline, particularly in South America, said Pirelli.
The ‘premium’ segment grew by 10.4 percent, registering a general increase in market share particularly in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East & Africa, and Russia where it reached a total weight of 59.4 percent of consumer revenues.
