Melfi, Italy - Fiat has chosen tires from Bridgestone for its new Fiat 500X crossover, said a press release by the Japanese tire-maker on 8 July.
According to Bridgestone, the supply of Turanza T001 tires, in size 225/45 R18 91V, to the Fiat factory in Melfi, Italy has already started.
With the 500X, Fiat has developed an urban vehicle available as a two-wheel drive called city look and a more powerful four-wheel drive version, named off-road look.
Criteria for the development of the tire, said Bridgestone, were oriented towards high rolling resistance and handling performance.
“Turanza T001 tire was able to meet Fiat’s demanding performance requirements which include very strict rolling resistance criteria for fuel economy,” Christophe de Valroger, VP original equipment, Bridgestone Europe.
Turanza T001 is Bridgestone’s flagship premium touring tire, developed to provide safety, comfort, durability and environmental performance.
