Chinese tire maker completes full production process in less than 11 months
Kedah, Malaysia – Prinx Chengshan has produced the first tire at its new Malaysian factory, less than 11 months after launching the project, the Chinese tire maker has announced.
The milestone saw the plant complete the entire tire production process, from rubber mixing through to curing, Prinx said in a 9 Oct social media post.
Prinx said it had established a cross-functional and international team to accelerate the project, breaking the construction programme into weekly plans and daily targets and operating '24/7' during key stages.
The plant will now undergo integrated commissioning aimed at improving coordination between production units and ramping up capacity.
Prinx said it would also continue to optimise the plant's product mix, with a particular focus on “high-value-added and technologically advanced tire products.”
The tire maker broke ground on the Kedah Rubber City plant in November last year as part of its move to expand production footprint and structure.
The Malaysian factory, it said, will serve as “another overseas strategic foothold” for the Chengshan Group following its tire production base in Thailand. (ERJ report)
