London – OE passenger car tire markets remained more or less flat in both Europe (including Russia and Turkey) and North America in February, with changes of 0 percent and -1 percent respectively compared to the same month last year.
The OE tire sales figures, which are based on data compiled by Michelin, showed much bigger year-on-yea5r variations in China (+6 percent) and Brazil (-17 percent).
The OE truck tire market was more volatile, an impressive 19-percent sales hike in North America, contracting sharply with a 49-percent decline in Brazil.
By comparison, the OE truck tire market in Europe (including Russia and Turkey)was more or less becalmed, growing by a modest 2 percent in the second month of 2015.
