French group says deal strengthens sealing solutions portfolio and aftermarket reach
Clermont-Ferrand, France – Michelin has finalised the acquisition of US-based Flexitallic, after securing all required approvals, the group said 2 April.
The deal, first announced in early February, is aimed at accelerating growth in Michelin’s non-tire Polymer Composite Solutions business.
Financial terms were not disclosed, with the transaction funded through available cash.
Michelin cited “strong strategic complementarity” between the two companies, adding that it expected the merger to create “strong synergies for future growth.”
Based in Houston, Texas, Flexitallic is a global sealing systems manufacturer: supplying sectors such as energy and chemical industry.
Operating across 17 facilities worldwide, Flexitallic manufactures a range of composite gaskets, sheet products, and speciality filler materials.
The company employs 1,200 people and achieved sales of $220 million (€185 million) in 2025.
“This acquisition would significantly broaden Michelin’s sealing portfolio and market reach, notably by increasing access to the aftermarket,” said Michelin.
