Hanover, Germany – Continental AG has appointed Hans-Juergen Duensing as head of its ContiTech AG replacing Heinz-Gerhard Wente who is stepping down on 30 April at his own request.
Duensing has been with ContiTech for over 20 years and has served as a member of its executive board since May 2014. He has run ContiTech's conveyor belt business unit based in Northeim, Germany, since 2005.
Prior to that, Duensing ran the automotive original equipment segment of the ContiTech power transmission group for about five years.
In an announcement on 10 Dec, Continental's chairman Elmar Degenhart, said the appointment of Duensing was in line with Continental’s strategy "to increase the share of our sales made with industrial customers and end users towards 40 percent.”
Degenhart went on to say that Conti’s share of this segment was approximately 28 percent, adding that ContiTech was making a "very valuable contribution" to this.
