Swedish partner GreenTech Recycling receives €24m grant commitment
Dillingen, Germany - Pyrum Innovations AG has progressed its planned end-of-life tire (ELT) recycling factory in Sweden, with project partner GreenTech Recycling Tires having received a €24-million grant commitment for the joint project.
Unveiled in March 2024, the project involves building a pyrolysis facility capable of processing 22,700 tonnes of ELTs annually.
“This grant commitment makes a significant contribution to the project’s financing,” said CEO Pascal Klein 22 Sept.
Pyrum, he said, expects the project to “gain momentum by the first quarter of 2027 at the latest.”
The project was initially scheduled for start-up in 2027. (ERJ report)
According to Pyrum, “the environmental, construction, and operating permit applications are already under review by the relevant authorities.”
In addition, a site has been identified for the construction of the future recycling plant, which has proven particularly suitable due to its size, existing infrastructure, and good transportation links.
The adjacent site also houses a thermal power plant that will utilize the gas generated during the process in the future.
Pyrum had previously identified Billingsfors in southwest Sweden as the location for the facility.
