Kottayam, India – The India Rubber Meet 2015 (IRM 2015) will be held in Kerala, 4-6 March 2015.
The Meet is a major initiative of the Indian rubber industry to organise a regular forum for interaction, networking and exchange of information. IRM is organised by all stakeholder associations representing different segments of the Indian rubber industry, media and the Indian Rubber Board.
The theme of IRM 2015 is “Finite Resources - Infinite Opportunities”. The rubber industry is “critically important” in terms of the wide range of industrial applications, versatility of products and employment potential.
According to the Indian Rubber Board, the nation’s rubber industry has a turnover of around Rs 85,000 crore (€10.6bn) with exports touching Rs 16,000 crore.
IRM 2015 will have invited talks by speakers and panel discussions based on the theme. The inaugural session of the event is scheduled in the evening of 4 March. Meetings of other stakeholder associations also will be conducted on the sidelines of the Meet. Expected participation in IRM 2015 is 900 people including speakers, panellists and delegates.
The previous India Rubber Meet (IRM 2014) was held at Le Meridien Convention Centre, Kochi, Kerala, 20-21 February 2014. Nearly 700 delegates from both India and abroad attended the event.
A national level organising committee is constituted to oversee IRM 2015 headed by Sheela Thomas, chairman, Indian Rubber Board. Vinod Simon (chairman, Rubber Skill Development Council) is the vice chairman of the committee. The committee has representations from all rubber industry related stakeholder associations, major companies and media.
