Cabey starts up Ethiopian tire retreading facility

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia − Cabey PLC, the largest importer and distributor of Bridgestone car tires in Ethiopia, inaugurated a tire maintenance and retread centre, reported Meraf Leykun for 2Merkato.
The retreading facility is situated on a 10,000 square meter plot in Akaki Kality (a ‘sub city’ of Addis Ababa) and cost 15m birr (€570,817).
The centre will provide various tire-related services, including replacement, balancing, rotation, checking service and reporting, air and nitrogen filling and wheel alignment.
Cabey is owned by Saeed Alamoudi, brother of Ethio-Saudi business tycoon Sheik Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi. Cabey is the sole distributor of Bridgestone tires.
