Cooper Standard acquires Jyco Sealing

    Novi, Michigan – Cooper Standard Automotive Inc. announced today that it acquired the automotive sealing business of Jyco Sealing Technologies Inc., effective 31 July. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

    Jeffery Edwards, Cooper chairman and CEO, said the integration of Jyco Sealing into Cooper Standard's global sealing business aligns with the company's growth strategy and further solidifies the company's position as the global leader in automotive sealing systems. Jyco's manufacturing locations are in Canada, Mexico and China.

    Jyco, founded in 2000, employees 800 and has been a pioneer in thermoplastic vulcanizate sealing technology. It has primarily supplied its sealing systems and components to the automotive industry. It is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

    Cooper Standard, headquartered in Novi, is a global supplier of systems and components for the automotive industry, with products including sealing and trim, fuel and brake delivery, fluid transfer, thermal and emissions and anti-vibration systems. The company employs more than 22 000 and operates in 19 countries.
