Vienna – The conveyor belt business of the Semperit Group is investing €40 million to expand production capacity at its Belchatów, Poland site.
Semperit said that due to an intensification of sales activities over the last three years, especially in South America and Asia, the Sempertrans business has been able “to establish a foothold in completely new markets” and therefore further production capacities are required.
“On the basis of decision in favour of the Belchatów facility, we are expanding our strong technological position in the high-quality conveyor belt business, and create additional industrial jobs in Europe,” commented Thomas Fahnemann, CEO of the Semperit Group.
Market growth for conveyor belt is being driven by megatrends mining, Semperit said. Sempetrans’ Belchatów plant specialises in the manufacturing of heavy-duty steel cord belt and textile conveyor belts.
