Trelleborg to highlight oilfield-approved materials at offshore technology event
ERJ staff report (BC)
Trelleborg, Sweden – At the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, 6-9 May, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) will showcase 20 materials qualified to API 6A (American Petroleum Institute) and ISO 10423 specifications.
Each material is specifically designed to meet differing operating conditions in terms of media resistance, life expectation, friction and wear requirements, says TSS. The range includes fluoroelastomers (FKM), Isolast perfluoroelastomers (FFKM), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based Turcon, TFM and polyether ether ketone (PEEK).
Seal materials are tested and approved, both in-house and through respected third parties, according to the company. Test criteria include explosive decompression resistance (EDR), sour and sweet gas aging, and compression set performance.
TSS also cites a range of 21 materials qualified to all elements of the stringent NORSOK M-710 (Norwegian collaborative standards) specification.
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions will be at Booth 5255 in the Offshore Technology Conference.
