Bausch + Lomb expects to launch silicone hydrogel multifocal lens

Atlanta, Georgia – Optical manufacturer Bausch + Lomb has announced the expansion of the company’s silicone hydrogel contact lens offering for astigmatism to Primary Care Optometry News, as well as plans to release a multifocal version subject to US Food and Drug Administration approval.
The company has added a further cylindrical correction rating to its PureVision2 range. The lens is now available from +6D to –9D and in four “cylinders”.
A spokesman said: "We are now looking to launch a multifocal PureVision2 that will incorporate a new design of optics."
