Bridgestone technical centre wins environmental award at TTE

Tokyo – Bridgestone Americas Inc. has won the environmental achievement of the year accolade at the 2013 Tire Technology International awards in Cologne, Germany.
The award, which recognise the company’s new technical centre in Akron, Ohio, was presented at an event during the Tire Technology Expo, held 5-7 Feb.
The Americas technical centre, one of five in the Bridgestone group, carries out research and development for advanced tire-related technologies. The building has been certified as meeting LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) specifications for environmentally-conscious building in the US, Bridgestone said in a 7 Feb news release.
