Gates launches heavy-duty coolant hose to cope with higher temperatures

Denver, Colorado - The FleetRunner Hi-Temp straight coolant hose from Gates Corp. is a peroxide-cured EPDM product claimed to outperform more expensive silicone and sulphur-cured EPDM alternatives.

Heavy-duty applications include trucks, buses and off-road equipment.

Gates notes that increasingly stringent emission standards mean that these vehicles are now designed with smaller engine compartments, more anti-emission equipment and engine accessories, raising underbonnet temperatures.

The temperature rating for the new hose is -40 to +150 degC.
