Portage Precision Polymers to host ARPM plant tour
ERJ staff report (RPN)
Indianapolis, US - Portage Precision Polymers Inc. will host a tour of its Ravenna, Ohio, mixing plant as the latest event scheduled by the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers.
“Portage has been a supporter of the ARPM since the association's beginnings,†said ARPM business manager Jenny Taylor. “More importantly, they are doing some really exceptional things in compound mixing. There is a different spin here, different type of tour than the injection moulding tours of the past.
The ARPM said Portage was chosen for the tour because of its commitment to the organisation and its innovative manufacturing and employee empowerment strategies.
The association holds at least two plant tours at member's facilities each year, aiming to build solidarity among members and help improve the rubber industry. The events have been well-attended, help build camaraderie among the ARPM members and give both the tour host and the visitors a chance to see what works well and where improvements can be made, according to Taylor.
Members and non-members of the ARPM are welcome to attend the tour, the group said.
