ERJ Staff Report (LMH)
Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine - Ukrainian tyre maker Dneproshina is to close its plant in Dnipropetrovsk with the loss of some 2100 employees, according to local media.
The Ukrainian Journal quoted all the chairman of the plant's trade union committee as saying the first layoff deadline is 28 Jan 2013, and that employees would receive a redundancy package including compensation for on used holiday.
Earlier this year ERJ reported that the troubled company had restarted production after almost two years of zero production, following a restructuring process. Sales in the first six months of 2012 were almost $40 million but reports surfaced in November that Dneproshina had been declared bankrupt.
