NR prices rise after Diwali holiday

London - Rubber prices rose on Wednesday after the Diwali holiday. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract rose by 5 yen to trade at just above yen 248 ($3.10) on Wednesday 14 November. Shorter-dated prices also rose to trade around yen 236 (from 232).
In Singapore, the April 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX was trading up 2 at $2.83 a few minutes before the close on Wednesday evening; December 2012 prices were also trading up 3 at around at $2.79 (from $2.76).
In India, NMCE said November prices closed unchanged 1 at just below Rs 173 ($3.16). December prices also stayed unchanged to close at Rs 174.
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for November closed up 3 at Yuan 23.6 ($3.79) per kilo on Wednesday. Prices for January 2013 rose by a fraction of a yuan to close at yuan 24.4 (from 24.1).
